A Day in Luray

Day trips usually stress me out, especially last minute ones.  But in the end, they are so fun, relaxed and memorable.  Last weekend we decided to head to one of my "NoVa Bucket List" sites to see (don't worry it is going to turn into a post of itself soon...promise!).  We headed to Luray Caverns.  Honest Moment : we decided to make the trip now because 5 and under get in free, and in just a few short weeks, had we waited and gone, we would of had to pay for Matthew!

The kids LOVED it.  The mile(ish) walk was no problem for either of them.  I am glad I brought the baby carrier and skipped the stroller (I really recommend NOT taking a stroller in).  Another tip.  If you have a Giant store card, take it to get the discount.  It was 1/2 a ticket when a ticket was bought at full price.

The scenery there is so pretty.  I really want to drive back up to the mountains in the fall, just for a drive, it is just amazing.  I will never get over how lucky we are to live in an area where there is just so much to do.  There is always somewhere new to explore.  We haven't even made it to half the places I want to go/see while we are living here and our kids are still young enough to actually enjoy exploring and not hating spending the day with Mom and Dad!

  1. I went to Luray as a kid with my grandparents and loved it. Just found you through Michelle - so nice to "meet" another NOVA mom!
