Project Pinterest - Groundhogs Day.

Being from western PA Groundhog Day has always been a big deal.  I grew up about 40 minutes away from Phil.  I didn't realize until moving to VA that it isn't as big a deal to everyone.  So today we did a few Groundhog activities to celebrate the day. 


The first thing we did was inspired by a pin.  A very simple cute groundhog craft.

And this is what my kids came up with:

Then we did a word search, which my 4 year old is just starting to learn how to do.

 And finished with a reading understanding story about the history of the day, with Q&A.  Matthew actually comprehends the stories we read pretty well.  He did need some help with this one.

And as far as the prediction, 6 more weeks of this winter isn't all that bad, we have barely seen any snow!
